Mary C. Ondako
December 2, 1932 – April 10, 2026

Mary C. Ondako went to be with our Lord at age 93. Mary was born in Chicago, IL, daughter of William and Catherine (Wiggs) McNulty. At a very young age, Mary, her brother, John, and their parents, moved to Nashville, TN.

Mary received a B.A. Degree in Business Education from George Peabody College in Nashville, TN. While a student, Mary work at Peabody as a part time secretary in the school library and for one of the Sociology professors. After graduation, Mary worked part time in the Bursar’s office and upon giving up her plan to teach, Mary was soon offered a full time position where she continued on for twenty years, advancing to the position of Bursar.

Mary met and married Paul T. Ondako and moved to Pittsburgh, PA. She did volunteer work for D.T. Watson Home for Crippled Children near Swickley, PA. She was also active in the Meals On Wheels program for the needy. Paul was transferred with the airlines to Houston, TX. There, Mary worked as the secretary for Central Baptist Church and School in Pinehurst, TX, until they retired and moved to Crossville, TN.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T. Ondako; parents, William J and Mary Catherine (Wiggs) McNulty; brother, John (Genie) McNulty; and sister, Sarah McNulty.

She is survived by her nieces, Joanne (Bill) Caudill and Susan (Ray) Gerber; great nieces Kelly (Garry) Adams, Jenna (Josh) Milligan, and Shayna (Scott) Hazlett; great nephews, Daniel (Leah) Caudill and Jesse (Laurel) Gerber; as well as 13 great great nieces and nephews.

Mary loved people and spending time with family and friends. She also liked to crochet, read, travel, and play her piano. She was also a faithful and active member of Central Baptist Church in Crossville, TN for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Central Baptist Church in Crossville, TN. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm, with the service to follow at 3:00pm, Pastor Billy Kemp officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery beside her husband, Paul.
