Linda “Carol” Gilliam, age 76, passed on April 10, 2026. Carol was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and friend. Her hobbies included reading and word puzzles. She was an avid dog lover and a long-time fan of UT football.

She was a retired nurse who had practiced with the late Dr. Joseph Lyon and Brushy Mountain Correctional Complex, from where she retired.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lester Coffey; her mother, Marie Hanks Coffey; and her brother, Kenneth Coffey. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Coffey; her daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Michael Lane; her son and daughter-in-law, Evan and MyRanda Gilliam; and her grandchildren, Jocelyn Ramsey, Maddilyn Ramsey, Casey Gilliam, and Jaxon Gilliam.

No service will be held, and the burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The children will hold a celebration of life later in the month to gather and share memories and stories with each other.
