Bettye Louise Elmore Maxwell, age 86, of Crossville, TN, passed away at Cumberland Medical Center on April 13, 2026.

Mrs. Maxwell was born on September 16, 1939, in Crossville, TN, daughter of the late John Elmore and Emma Claudia (Adams) Elmore.

Bettye was a homemaker, and her family was her whole world. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her Jesus!

She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Locklear (William); grandchildren, Morgan Locklear, Maddie Locklear, and Joshua Locklear (Madison); great grandchildren, Jonathon Locklear and Ryker Locklear; sister, Mary Edith McNew; and a host of special nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Bettye is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Landis Maxwell; son, Derrick Lyle Maxwell; brothers, Edward Elmore, Joseph Elmore, and J.C. Elmore; and sisters, Mazelle Pruitt, Dorothy Wilbanks, Dimple Norris, Martha Daves, and Ruth Burgess.

Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Nashville, TN on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 2:30 PM following the service.
