Linda Sue Storie, 83

Spirited and full of life with just the right touch of spunk, Linda Sue Storie was a woman who found her greatest joy in being surrounded by the people she loved.

The early 1940s were a time of resilience and change in America, and in the quiet hills of Jamestown, Tennessee, that era brought a special kind of joy to Thomas and Nannie (York) Copeland with the arrival of their daughter, Linda Sue, on June 14, 1942. Linda grew up in a large family and was the middle child among her siblings. Although the family endured the heartbreaking loss of Linda’s only brother, Boyce, and two sisters, Bettie Jean and Brenda Faye, in infancy, Linda shared many treasured years growing up alongside her sisters Mary Lou, Thelma, Dollie, and Sandra, becoming the second oldest of the surviving children. Growing up in Tennessee helped shape Linda into the strong, loving, and steadfast woman so many would come to know and love.

A true spitfire, Linda was happy, joyful, and vibrant. She had a natural sense of style and beauty, paired with a wisdom that came from a life well lived. On March 27, 1971, she married Ward J. Storie, and together they built a home rooted in faith and family. Ward lovingly helped raise Linda’s three children, and together they spent many happy years creating memories that would truly last a lifetime. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

Linda was also a devoted Christian who found strength, comfort, and guidance through her relationship with Jesus Christ. On June 23, 1974, Linda was formally baptized, a moment that reflected the deep and lasting commitment she carried the remainder of her life.

Linda was never one to sit still. Over the years, she worked in a sewing factory in Jamestown, Ross Supermarkets and Excel Manufacturing assembling lamps in Muncie, Indiana, and finally at Wright’s Shoe Store in Jamestown. No matter where life took her, Linda carried herself with strength, determination, and grace. Outside of work, she found joy in sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning, and creating beautiful flower arrangements. Whether tending to her home, visiting with family and friends, or working with her hands, Linda had a way of making everything around her feel warm and cared for.

Above all, Linda remained happiest when surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and the simple joys of everyday life. A woman of strength, style, and unwavering love, Linda will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
