BRENDA FAYE TABER McDONALD age 80 of Crossville, TN passed away May 23, 2026. She was born February 16, 1946 in Crossville, TN the daughter of Holland and Gertrude Katherine Cox Taber. She was so proud of the fact that her father was the only blacksmith in Crossville for many years. A beloved wife, sister, aunt and respecter educator, she lived her life as a shining testament to the grace and love of Jesus Christ. She was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and taught typing, business and computer classes for forty years at Cumberland County High School. She dedicated her life to shaping the hearts and minds of young people. She was a devoted and active member of Crossville Church of God of Prophecy. She loved singing and playing piano at church and anywhere she could spread the gospel.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Jimmy McDonald of Crossville, TN, sister and brother-in-law- Pam and Fred Stout of Crossville, TN, and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters- Joann Taber Henley, Deloris Jean Jones and Barbara Madelyne Amber, brother- Gary Lynn Taber and father and mother-in-law- Kermit and Ida Mae McDonald.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 27, 2026 at 1pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am-1pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service at Green Acres Memory Garden.

In lieu of flowers the family has respectfully asked that donations be made to The Alzheimer”s Association or The Local Lion’s Club.
