Raybon “Dobin” Bunch, 86
Raybon “Dobin” Bunch, age 86, of New River, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Dobin spent many years in New River insisting he remain independent and saying he could tend to himself. Recently Dobin relocated to Spring City, Tennessee to live with his son once he was no longer able to stay by himself. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church where he attended until he wasn’t able. He enjoyed fishing, hunting for ginseng, and spending time with family and friends. Dobin was also one of the largest Tennessee Volunteers fan ever.
Dobin is preceded in death by his parents, Perry Ward and Dessie Bunch Ward, a brother Alvin Ward and a sister and brother-n-law Phylis and Roy Borum; as well as Gregg’s mother Ida June Bunch.
He is survived by a son Carlton Gregg Bunch and wife Helena Woody and 4 grandchildren: Jared Bunch, Travis Bunch, Jessie Bunch and Cheyenne Woody.
The family will hold receiving of friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with funeral services at 7:00 PM with Bro. Odis Phillips officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in New River, Tennessee.
