Funeral Services for Roy Phillips, age 81, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Marty Carr and Rev. Dewayne Whittaker will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born on Friday, September 1, 1944, in the Thompson Flat Community of Overton County, Tennessee, to the late Millard Harrison and Lety Myrtle Phillips. Mr. Phillips passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his home. Mr. Phillips was a contract tree trimmer working with Kendall and Dark Horse servicing VEC. He was a good father and grandfather and was a devoted Christian. He was a giving person and loved everyone. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sondra and Steve Simpson of Monterey, TN, Connie and Scott Farley of Monterey, TN; grandchildren, Craig Simpson, Megan Simpson, Dakota (Cassy) Farley, and Wyatt Farley; great grandchildren, Aubrey Reese, Mckenzie Reese, Saydie Dotson, and Mason Dotson; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Earlean Vaughn Phillips and Gloria Hite Phillips; son, Roy Glenn Phillips; and brothers and sisters, Media Harris, Auda Mae Wilson, Zelma Presley, Ralph Phillips, Roland Phillips, Felma Swafford, Ruth Wilson, and infant, Doyle Phillips.
