Donald R Dunwoody, age 81 of Fairfield Glade, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28 at home after a short battle with brain cancer.

Don was born in Lancaster, PA on April 3, 1945 to Richard and Betty Dunwoody. Don graduated from Lebanon High School and Penn State University. Don went on to have a successful 30+ year career in Parks and Recreation with the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Don married Debra (Beatty) in 1978 and they had one child, Scott. Don dedicated his life to being a faithful husband, fantastic father, and follower of Jesus Christ. Don also enjoyed being Grandpa, taking trips and outings with his grandchildren, Olivia and Zoe.

In addition to his wife, son, and grandchildren, Don is also survived by his two brothers Scott (Kay) and Dwight (Carol), and three nephews and one niece.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday 8/14/2026 11am at Fairfield Glade First Baptist church, Fairfield Glade, TN.
