Eugene “Blue” Brummitt, 73
Eugene “Blue” Brummitt, age 73, gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, July 29, surrounded by his loving family.
Eugene was born on November 22, 1952, in Devonia, Tennessee. He was a man of very few words, but he possessed a servant’s heart and would truly give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He dedicated over 40 years of hard work and service to his community as a foreman for the Oliver Springs Water Department.
In Eugene’s younger years, he loved to work on race cars and could often be found attending the races as the co-owner of the race car and a pit crew member at the Wartburg Speedway. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping at Big Ridge, and watching wrestling. Above all else, Eugene cherished time spent with his family and friends. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always cutting up and sharing laughs with them anytime they were around.

The family also warmly invites attendees to wear something blue in honor of Eugene’s lifelong nickname, “Blue.”
