Rachel Kathleen (Conner) Horner, 51
Mrs. Rachel Kathleen (Conner) Horner of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Medical Center of Albany, having attained the age of 51 years, 5 months, and 16 days. She was born on Tuesday, March 18, 1975, in Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of Paul & Kathy (Cash) Conner. Rachel was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Albany. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Rachel enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, and working with animals. She had a special love for horses and also loved her donkey, “Redford,” and her animals, “Sneaky Pete”, “Molly”, and her fur baby, “Buddy.” She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert & Kathleen Cash, and Murl & Pauline Conner.
She is survived by her parents, Paul & Kathy Conner of Albany, Kentucky; sons, Ethan Horner of Albany, Kentucky, Aidan Horner of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandson, Oscar Horner; siblings, Kara (& Keith) Connatser of Knoxville, Tennessee, Brett (& Sarah) Conner of Bremerton, Washington, and Kailyn Conner of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, Emily, Danna, Annabelle, and Bellarose; and several great-aunts, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. C.S.T., in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Stringer, and David Cross officiating. A Nightingale Tribute was given by Donna Meador, on behalf of the Kentucky Nurses Association. Burial was in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Jeff Dick, Gary Burchett, Ethan Horner, Malcom Thrasher, Jacob Cash, Evan Price, “Dutch” Daily, and Callahan Thrasher. In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to the First Baptist Wednesday Night Shut-In Food Outreach, or the Tri-County Animal Shelter.
