David Gene Cox, age 75 of Deer Lodge (formerly of Fraterville) passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at his home.  Early in his life he worked in the coal mining industry as a truck driver then started his own dry wall business where he worked until his retirement.

David absolutely loved his cattle and being outside. He enjoyed feeding the birds, gardening and farming, reading and spending time with his family and attending his church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Cox;  Parents, Esco and Betty Cox;

Brothers, Tommy and Harold Cox.

David is survived by his children, Michelle (Bob) Culbertson, Christina Cox,

and David Cox, Jr and his wife Sherry;

Grandchildren, Peyton and Cameron Cox, Austin and Andrew Stagnolia, and Colby Cox;

Sisters, Janice, Virginia and Theresa;

Brothers, Steve, Mark, Richard, Johnny, Timmy and  Danny Cox;

And many other family members and good friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 4-6:00pm  at Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation, 51 Edmonds Drive, Oliver Springs TN 37840.
