Eleanor Jean Webb, known simply as Jean to all who loved her, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026 in Franklin, Tennessee at the age of 95.

Jean was born January 5, 1931 in Harriman, Tennessee, to Albert and Ellen Adkisson. Harriman remained her home for more than seventy years and she carried its warmth and steadiness with her throughout her life.

Above all, Jean was a devoted Christian who placed her faith at the center of everything she did. She was a faithful member of the Lawnville Road Church of Christ and her quiet, unwavering belief shaped the way she loved her family, served others, and met life’s joys and sorrows.

Jean’s working life was one of devoted service. She was employed at the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge and later at Harriman Hospital, where she worked until her retirement. For the past four years, she made her home at Charter Senior Living in Franklin, close to her son and his family, who treasured the time they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ellen Adkisson; her first husband William Guy Button and second husband John Webb; her brother, Tommy Adkisson; and her sisters, Jane Reed and Doris June Howard.

She is survived by her son, Randy Button, and his wife, Kim; her grandchildren, Courtney Button and her husband, Chris Phillips, Lindsey Button, and Adam Button; her stepdaughter, Wanda Biles,sister, Becky Crowder, brother, Jim Adkisson; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lawnville Road Church of Christ.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Charter Senior Living and to Jean’s personal caregivers for the compassion, patience, and loving care they gave her.
