Sandra Carter Helton, 85, of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, September 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

A pillar of warmth and faith in the Rockwood community, Sandra filled the lives of those around her with music, hospitality, and steady devotion. Her deep love for the Lord was woven through every note she played as a church pianist and every song she lifted up as part of her ladies quartet. Through her gift of music, she brought comfort, joy, and inspiration to her congregation and community across generations.

At home, Sandra showed her love through an open door and an unmatched table. Widely celebrated as the maker of the best fried chicken ever, she believed the finest moments in life happened around the kitchen table, sharing good food, great stories, and plenty of laughter. Above all, her greatest pride and joy was her family, who could always count on her gentle wisdom, quick smile, and unconditional love.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles Hadden Carter and Lou Ella Stewart Carter, and by her cherished son, Rex Helton.

Her legacy lives on through her three devoted daughters: Leslie Kibitleski, Melissa Morton, and Beverly Kelley.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Glenn White, Paige White, Jarred Kelley, Sarah Kelley, Cody Morton, Kayla Willis, and Haley Foley.

Her blessings continued through her twelve cherished great-grandchildren: Hadley Kelley, Harper Kelley, Mason Simpson, Emma Simpson, Savanna Martin, Mason Coundourides, Alexis Pierce, Tristan Pierce, Noah Bracey, Cooper Willis, Silas Willis, and MacLaren Morton. She is also survived by a wide circle of dear church family and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.

Graveside service will be held on Monday September 28, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Sandra Carter Helton.
