AAA PREDICTING HEAVY TRAVEL FOR THANKSGIVING

AAA is predicting this year’s Thanksgiving travel will be the second highest since 2005.
More than 1.3 million Tennesseans are expected to travel 50 miles or more during the Thanksgiving holiday time this year.
AAA predicts this could be the second-highest record for Thanksgiving travel, with 2.4 percent more people traveling compared to last year. That is roughly about 31,000 more people predicted to be on the road or flights this Thanksgiving.
Tennesseans should expect busier roads than usual with AAA predicting more than 28,000 drivers plan to travel by car to their Thanksgiving destination.
Officials expect Wednesday, November 22, to be the busiest day for drivers during the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
The good news for Tennessee drivers is gas prices are expected to remain lower than last year.
