AIRBNB TO UPDATE CANCELLATION POLICY TO BETTER COVER UNFORESEEN EVENTS
Company officials with Airbnb are making changes to its cancellation policy to better address unforeseen events.
It will provide cancellation and refund support for guests when unexpected major events occur such as natural disasters, government travel restrictions, or weather events that could impact a renter’s ability to stay at a location.
The new policy will override a host’s cancellation policy.
The enhanced policy will not cover all incidents, including injuries or illness, or government obligations like jury duty.
The updated policy will go into effect for all reservations on June 6, 2024.
