ALMOST 50,000 KUBOTA UTILITY VEHICLES RECALLED; MAJOR CRASH RISK
On May 1, 2025, Kubota Tractor Corporation announced a recall of approximately 49,640 Kubota Utility Vehicles, specifically certain RTV-series models, due to a hazardous defect in the front suspension system. The ball joint connected to the front suspension arm can loosen and detach, potentially causing the vehicle to lose wheel support and posing a significant crash risk to drivers.
The affected models include RTV520, RTV-X1120, RTV-X1130, RTV-X1140, RTV-X, RTV-X900, and RTV-X1100C, with serial numbers within specified ranges, and were sold in colors such as orange, black, and camo at authorized Kubota dealers nationwide from January 2021 to December 2024 for $11,000 to $27,000.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact an authorized Kubota dealer for a free inspection and repair. Kubota is directly notifying registered owners, and the company has reported four incidents of loosened or separated ball joints, with no injuries noted.
