Andra Sweeney Farmer, 77

Andra Sweeney Farmer, age 77, of Harriman, TN passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Roane Medical Center.
She loved the Lord and delighted in sharing her faith. As the end approached, she had complete confidence in God’s loving embrace. Peacefully and serenely, she departed this world.
Andra had many friends. Those who were not her friends simply had not met her yet. She could be hilarious in professing her foibles with brutal honesty. She could be fiery as well, a trait she inherited naturally.
Andra’s first thought always was to take care of those in need of a bit of kindness. There are many individuals who benefited from her care and concern. These individuals remained an important part of her life. She often spoke in glowing terms of her “adopted” loved ones. She considered them to be her great treasures.
In the last few years, Andra’s health was seriously compromised by unrelated medical conditions requiring long periods of treatment and convalescence. Her husband, Jack, was always by her side. Jack provided the very best of care. In every way possible, he demonstrated the love and dedication that had sustained them since high school. Andra knew and professed Jack to be her greatest treasure. She had no doubt that she was loved.
To say that Andra will be missed is entirely inadequate to express the great loss we feel. But once again, we may turn to Andra herself for consolation. As her mortal life slipped away, she said; “Tell them to be happy for me. I am going home.”
Andra is preceded in death by her parents Nell Reeves Sweeney and John Sweeney, siblings Ellen Sweeney Cook and husband David Cook, Patricia “Pat” Sweeney Ramsey and husband Buddy Don Ramsey, and sister-in-law Wilda Beason Sweeney.
