Mr. Bennie Earl Claywell of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, having attained the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 26 days. He was born on Monday, February 1, 1943, in Forest Cottage, Kentucky, the son of Ilus & Lovell (Easter) Claywell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph (& Marie) Claywell, Rollin (& Jane) Claywell, Harley Wayne (& Peggy) Claywell, Richard Claywell, sisters, Margaret Ann Claywell, Helen (& George) Elmore, and Shirley Loyall, sister-in-law, Lou Ann Claywell, nieces, Sheila Claywell, Teresa Claywell, and nephew, David Claywell.

He is survived by his brother, Lyle Webster Claywell of Hodgenville, Kentucky, sister-in law, Maggie Claywell, brother-in-law, Winfred Loyall, nephews, Ricky (& Laurie) Claywell, Doug (& Cherri) Elmore, Mike (& Shelly) Loyall, Jacob Claywell, Wayne Claywell, Tommy Claywell, nieces, Monica (& Scott) Frazier, and LaDonna (& Larry Toth) Claywell.

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial was in the Lewis Cemetery in Forest Cottage (Cumberland Co.), Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Doug Elmore, Mike Loyall, Jacob Claywell, and Larry Toth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Easterseals.
