Bernard “Bernie” James Daggett 1941-2025 Bernie was born on March 13, 1941 to Clare & Ruth Daggett of Kalamazoo, MI, where he was raised. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central, where he excelled in sports, in 1959. Bernie went on to marry Janet Dekkinga on October 12, 1962. They had 2 sons, Gregory and Timothy, which they raised in Schoolcraft, MI. Throughout his life he worked for several companies, some of which, include Michigan Highway, Sutherland Paper, Doubledays, Dekkinga & Bos Builders, Impact Label, and Upjohn. He attended Full Gospel Church of Paw Paw, MI and Cornerstone Church of Portage, MI. He enjoyed snowmobiling and showing his antique cars at car shows. After retirement, Bernie and Janet moved to Crossville, TN to be closer to his son Greg and wife Cheryl. He is survived by his wife Janet Dekkinga Daggett; son Gregory Clare (Cheryl) Daggett; nieces Debra (Ken) Lettinga and Holly (Rob) Sieffert; and nephew Rich (Carol) Krulac. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents Clare T. and Ruth N. (DeSmit) Daggett; son Timothy Alan Daggett; and sister Bertha Daggett. Per Bernie’s wishes, there are no services scheduled at this time.
