Betty Whitaker, age 83, was born on June 2, 1939, to Tim and Lillie Hammons in Pleasant Hill, TN. She passed away on August 7, 2022 in Sparta, TN.

Betty was survived by her children Shelia Todd, Mickey Whitaker, and Gary (Kimberly) Whitaker; grandchildren Charlie Todd, Travis Whitaker, David Whitaker, and Dylan Whitaker; 5 great grandchildren; and siblings Glenna Jackson and David Hammons.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tim E. and Lillie Mae (Thompson) Hammons; siblings Shirley Jeane Cobb, Edward Carl Hammons, Thomas Boyd Hammons, Nyla M. Meadows, and Brenda Lee Smith; and son Terry Whitaker.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm with the service immediately following at 12:00pm.
