BOND REDUCED FOR MURDER SUSPECT IN OVERTON COUNTY
A Livingston man charged with second-degree murder appeared in Overton County Criminal Court this week.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says in September 2019, agents started an investigation into the 2019 overdose death of 25-year-old Christopher William Thompson, who was found inside his home in Celina. The investigation revealed he died from fentanyl toxicity. Agents identified 52-year-old Ronald Anson Wheeler as the man allegedly responsible for providing Thompson the drugs the day before his death.
Wheeler was booked into the Overton County Jail and initially held on a $500,000 bond.
In court this week, a judge reduced the bond for Wheeler from a half million to $175,000 and set a return court date of July 8, 2020.
