BRADLEY COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ANIMAL CRUELTY
In northeast Bradley County, Crystal Palmer was arrested on Sunday after deputies responded to a report of a dog being shot at her residence. Witnesses reported that Palmer retrieved a .22-caliber firearm and shot the confined dog multiple times. The injured animal fled into the home, leaving a trail of blood that led deputies to its body.
Investigators documented blood inside the dog’s kennel, a blood trail leading indoors, and several spent .22-caliber shell casings at the scene. A search warrant was obtained, Palmer was located, and the dog’s body was recovered for examination by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
She was taken into custody and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
