Brant H. Brown, age 61

Brant H. Brown, age 61, was born on September 27th, 1961 to Delene F. Givens and Larry W. Brown in Walla Walla, Washington, and passed away in Crossville, Tennessee on February 15th, 2023.

Brant grew up in the Seattle, Washington area and spoke fondly of his childhood in Federal Way and Glenoma, Washington. He described some of his happiest early memories as playing, picnicking, and learning to swim with his sister, Shelley, and identical twin brother, Brian at Riffe Lake near his grandparent’s home. He moved to Tennessee in the early 1980s, helped operate his mother’s store on Hwy 70, and then worked in customer services and accounting at Lake Tansi, Tennessee for 15 years.

He enjoyed gardening most of all, a hobby he was able to share with his late beloved mother. His other interests included wildly spicy food, stained glass crafts, traveling, and witty comebacks. Brant was best described as ornery and lovable. Family meant more to him than anything else in the world and seeing his sons start families of their own brought him great joy. He was delighted by his grandchildren and loved watching them play.

He is preceded in death by his parents– Delene and Larry; uncle– Rodney Smith; as well as his grandparents– Arlene Grace and Delmer Q. Smith, and Evelyn and Wayne Brown.

Brant is survived by his sons– Michael Brown (Layla Franklin) and Branson “Boo” Brown (Rachel Gardner); four grandchildren– Briley, Ava, Karter, and Lilly; siblings– Brian Brown (Lavonda), Shelley Marshall (Steve), and Cassy Givens (Jamie Dillard); nieces and nephews– Amber, Stevey, Jessica, and Chris; his fiancé– Scarlet Holmes and her son Landon Holmes (Lauren); and many beloved friends and relatives.

Brant will be dearly missed and always remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Brant to one of the following: The American Cancer Society or The American Diabetes Association.
