CAMARILLO CHARGED WITH SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR
The Cookeville Police Department received a cyber-tip about an apparent file containing child sexual abuse material.
The Cookeville Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) was notified and after an initial investigation was conducted, detectives gathered sufficient evidence to obtain a search warrant for a residence located in Putnam County.
With the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and upon the execution of the search warrant, 24-year-old Anthony Camarillo of Cookeville was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, a Class D felony.
He was booked into the Putnam County Jail with a bail set at $10,000.
The results of this case spotlight a seamless partnership and great multi-jurisdictional investigation between the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Cookeville Police Department, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
