Carmen G. Martinez age 94 of Spring City, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 1, 1931, in Pinos, Zacatecas, Mexico, to the late Florencio and Maria Gonzalez Guerrero and has been a resident of Spring City since 1956. Carmen was a current member and one of the founding members of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Dayton, Tennessee. She was a devoted mother who loved to cook and care for her plants. Carmen also enjoyed going on drives, eating out, and reading.

Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Vicente Martinez, her infant son Vicente Martinez Jr., her daughter Magdalena Martinez, and her brother Carlos Guerrero.

Survivors include her children Pedro (Anita) Martinez of Decatur, Tennessee, Carmen (Stan) Powell of Knoxville, Tennessee, Teresa (Miguel Cruz) Martinez of Atlanta, Georgia, Lulu (Van) Rose of Nashville, Tennessee, Mary Martinez, and Vince Martinez both of Spring City, Tennessee; her two brothers who live in Mexico; her many grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Dayton, Tennessee with Father Jim Vick officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00pm.
