An investigation that began in June 2016 has led to charges of child rape against a Chattanooga man.

The teenage girl initially believed her boyfriend was the father of her child; but paternity tests ruled that out.

Authorities say the victim told someone close to her she was raped by Floyd King, and he could be the father of her child.

Investigators subsequently obtained DNA warrants and confirmed through testing that King is, in fact, the child’s father.

King is due to appear in court on child rape charges April 30.
