Mrs. Christine Oney, age 95, of Spring City, TN passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born on May 31, 1931 to Festus Adolf Ledford and Dorothy Mae Sweat Ledford in Lancing, TN. She married her best friend, Oscar Oney, and spent 63 wonderful years with him. She loved sewing and worked as seamstress her whole life, not only outside of the home, but also lovingly for all of her family. Christine loved to garden, cook and take daily walks with her close friends . She is preceded in death by her parents F.A. Ledford and Dorothy Ledford, husband Oscar Oney, son Randall Oney, and brothers Truman Ledford and L.H. Ledford.

She is survived by her daughters Sandra Lankford of Spring City, TN, Belinda McCampbell of Grandview, TN, and Janet Bright (Bobby) of Maryville, TN.

Grandchildren Tim Oney (Stacey) of Prospect, KY, Gabe McCampbell (Katrina) of Soddy Daisy, TN, Justin McCampbell (Kellie)of Ooltewah, TN, Lori Gilstrap (Stephen) of Cartersville, GA, Kaleb Lankford of Kannapolis, NC, Amanda Bright of Knoxville, TN, and Jacob Bright (Mattie) of Maryville, TN.

Great grandchildren Matthew (Kendal) Oney, Mason Oney, Kristen (Nathan) Fairbanks, Sarah McCampbell, Katelyn McCampbell, Jacob McCampbell, Harper Gilstrap, Carson Gilstrap, Audrey Lankford, and Zeke Bright who is on the way.

Great-great grandchildren Parker Fairbanks and baby Oney on the way.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Evans Mortuary Chapel. Service begins at 12:00 pm with Rev. John Eldridge officiating. Interment will take place at Spring City Cemetery after the service. Evans Mortuary is honored to serve the family of Ms. Christine Oney.
