Christy Leighann, 50
Jackson – Christy Leighann, age 50 of Kingston, (formerly of Wartburg) waltzed through the pearly gates, no longer hindered by health concerns nor restraints. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at her home on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
Christy, known for her easy-going nature and smile, spent many years working in the food service industry. Her proudest accomplishments were her two surviving children Jalen Wilkie of Cookeville and Courtney Frazier of the home (whom she chastised until her final breathe for not giving her a grandchild to spoil).
She is also survived by aunt Brenda Ressler of Indiana, special cousins Teresa McCarty and Debbie Williams, sister-in-law Denise Wilkie Brindle, niece and nephew Bailey and Dustin Wilkie and James Cuthbert along with several cousins and enduring friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Everett and Edith Coffman, Melvin and Ruby Wilkie, Parents Jerry Wilkie and Betty Powers and brother Doug Wilkie.
Exhibiting her unique personality and spirituality, she made peace with Ol’ Man Death and welcomed his visit. Once her decision had been made, she talked tirelessly and excitedly about the new adventure she was preparing to undertake. She even listed who she wants to come to haunt, so if you ever did her wrong, best be prepared!
Christy chose cremation so there will be no memorial service, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
She had no life insurance nor funds set aside for her final expenses. A Go Fund Me page has been posted on Facebook if you feel led to help ease the burden this has placed on her children.
