CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR ARRESTED YESTERDAY FOR ALTERING GRADES

Over a year after a grade-changing scandal at Clinton High School, where two teachers were fired for altering nearly 1,500 grades, a second person, former counselor Carrie Jenkins, has been charged with two counts of destruction or tampering with government records.

Jenkins, who resigned, is a long-time Clinton resident and educator, and her attorney denies the charges, vowing to clear her name. Former teacher Clay Turpin faces 24 charges related to the scandal.

Several staff, including the principal, guidance counselors, and football coach, have since left the school system through resignations, dismissals, or non-renewed contracts.
