Connie Faye Porter, 68, of Jacksonville, Florida, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born May 28, 1957, in Dayton, Tennessee, Connie had an early love for horses, sports, and most things outdoors, which further blossomed into a passion for poker and billiards during her later years. From a young age, she held a deep reverence for God, fostering a special relationship with Jesus that guided her through life. She carried a determined, tough spirit and carried an endless love for her family and close friends throughout her 68 years.

Connie devoted many years of her career to United States Gypsum. As a supervisor there, she not only excelled professionally but also met her soulmate and built countless lifelong friendships.

Connie was the devoted wife of Matthew Porter for 40 years. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Candace Rice; son, Travis Porter, daughter‑in‑law, Helena Pereira; son‑in‑law, David Rice; and her cherished granddaughters, Audrey DeBerry, Madilen Porter, and Maia Porter.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Keener; biological mother, Barbara Mays; father, Arthur Dunn; and mother, Robbie Dunn.

A celebration of Connie’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Event Center at Peeples Family Funeral Home, 14165 N. Main Street (Building C), Jacksonville, FL with Pastor Ken Barney officiating. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Cranmore Cove Cemetery in Dayton, Tennessee.
