COVID-19 CASE REPORTED IN ALCOA MIDDLE SCHOOL

It did not take long at all once Alcoa city schools opened for the coronavirus to appear. Schools started there July 22, 2020.

Two days later, families received notification (Friday, July 24, 2020) a person had tested positive for COVID-19 at Alcoa Middle School.

It stated contact tracing will be completed and that anyone who was in close contact with the person will be notified by phone and email within 24 hours.

People who are contacted will need to quarantine their child for 14 days, according to the email.

If parents do not receive a call within 24 hours, then their children were not in direct contact with the person.
