CROSSVILLE CONSIDERING RAISING FUNDING FOR PALACE THEATER FROM $15K TO $50K
Crossville will consider increasing funding for the Palace Theater from $15,000 to $50,000 in the next fiscal year’s budget.
According to the City Manager, Greg Wood, the goal is to bring in more popular acts for the community. Wood stated, “Basically, that is going to come out a wash. As we bring in some bigger performers, they demand a little bit more ticket price. That basically covers the cost of us doing that.”
Wood said if approved, he anticipates a revenue of $75,000. Wood also said the city wants to continue offering quality, affordable entertainment but also keep the facility a community resource. He also stated that the city made back all its money budgeted for performances this fiscal year.
