A media outlet in Nashville reported this morning Cumberland County schools will be closed for the next two weeks (March 16-27, 2020) because of the concerns for the coronavirus.

The only problem is they left out the word KENTUCKY at the end of the county. That closing applied to Cumberland County, Kentucky and NOT Cumberland County, Tennessee.

Cumberland County, Tennessee school officials say spring break will take place March 23-27, 2020 as scheduled and as of today no plans are in the works to close schools earlier than that.

Cumberland County, Tennessee schools are on normal operations at this time. The school system continues to monitor the daily afternoon reports from the Tennessee Department of Health regarding the coronavirus. As of 9:45 a.m. central time today, the closest county to Cumberland County, Tennessee with a confirmed case is either Knox County or the Nashville area.
