Danny Berton Presley September 19, 1951 – May 20, 2024

To know Danny Presley was to know a good ole country boy who was ready to go on a nature-loving adventure at any moment. Pack a brown paper sack, with a sandwich -peanut butter and banana was his favorite- and he was on his way. Pops always had his ice chest in the car, with cold drinks for everyone when he got where he was headed. Always prepared. Careful. Meticulous.

Most people blaze through life in the fast lane, but not Danny- he took his time… If there was a hold-up in traffic, chances were that Danny was up in front, moseying along. He took his time “raising cane” and then in his later years, chose to be a disciple of Jesus, knowing he was saved by grace. He kept his hands busy creating beautiful works of art all his life, and shared that craftsmanship with his sweet nephews, and grandchildren throughout the years.

If you were lucky enough to catch him sitting still, he would share how much his family- brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nephews meant to him. He held memories dear to his heart of spending time with his crew down at the river or hiking through places like the State Park and finding joy in the little things that the wilderness has to offer.

Danny spent the majority of his life, “behind a mop”, as he described it- dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in rehabilitation facilities for the elderly, working as an orderly and maintenance supervisor at different points in his career. Danny was the most proud of himself for staying by his mama’s side until she went to meet the Lord and join her beloved.

Danny made his final transition to be with our Creator on May 20, 2024, with his granddaughter on his side, as well as her husband and the incredible nursing staff at Cumberland Medical Center.

Danny was proceeded in death and has joined his mother Ellen Presley, father Berton Presley, sister Ruth Riley; brother, Craven Presley and grandson Steven “Booge” Presley on the most beautiful fishing bank of all.

Watching over his loved ones that are still walking their own journey: brother, David Presley (Pearl); brother, Donald Presley; daughter, Joanne Cobb (Terry); son, Steve Presley; nephews, Ricky Presley, Johnny Presley (Barbara), James Presley (Leeann), Brandon England (Amanda), and David Ray Presley (Emma); grandchildren, Kayla Hahn (Jeremy), Kendelyn Key, Kristopher Cole, Tony Presley, Logan Cole, Dylan Cole, Emily Cole; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at New Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
