Danny Neil Brannon, age 65 of Oak Ridge, went home to his heavenly father on Sunday, November 30, 2024.

Danny was a retired construction superintendent who was living out his retirement soaking up as much of the outdoors as possible. He spent as much time as possible at his second home at Outdoor Resorts in Gatlinburg these last couple years, where he owned an RV on the lake. It was his dream residence to spend the rest of his days. Danny was also a history buff who enjoyed sharing his WEALTH of knowledge of all things historical.

More than his love of outdoor life and history, he loved his daughters. They were his pride and joy. He would brag to anyone who would listen about their accomplishments and just generally how proud of them he was. In return, they’d agree that he was the biggest and best part in shaping their lives, as well as the best father a girl could ask for. Friends would describe him as a “larger than life force who had a gift of bringing laugher and joy to all who encountered him.”

He was preceded in death by his daughter Victoria Brannon; parents Jo Ann (Ronald) Martin and Bob Brannon; sister LeAnn Martin; and brother Ray Brannon.

He is survived by his daughters Ashton (Reggie) Chatman and Erica Brannon; granddaughters Malaya, Cheyenne, Chatelaine, and Jayden; sisters Kathy (Kevin) Russell and Joni (Martin) McCrary; brother John (Nancy) Martin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.

The family will hold a celebration of life at High Places Church 123 Randolph Rd. Oak Ridge, TN 37830 on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to High Places Church where Danny was a member and spent many summers volunteering for the youth summer camp. He cherished those summers, inspiring youth to have the same love for the outdoors that he shared.
