Danny “Wayne” Norris, age 78 of Pikeville, passed away at Hospice of Chattanooga Care in Chattanooga on Friday, September 25, 2026. He was born in Cookeville on June 17, 1948, to the late Ronald and Alene (Ashburn) Norris. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffaney Shaunte-Norris; his brother, Chris Norris; and his sister, Debra Winnie.

Wayne graduated from Red Bank High School in Chattanooga, then enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving two years in Anchorage, Alaska. After completing his military service, he attended Chattanooga State, earning an engineering degree in Tool and Die Making. He spent more than 30 years working for Lookout Valley Tool and Machine, and also worked for Goodman Manufacturing and Pyramid Mouldings, designing moulds for each company.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sarah (Williams) Norris of Pikeville; his three stepchildren, Stacey Ray Swafford, Shannan Michelle Swafford, and Regina Gail Swafford Richey; daughter-in-law, Tilyna Swafford; his son-in-law, Michael Richey; his seven grandchildren, and his two great-grandchildren. Also, his two brothers, Ronnie Leon and Gregory Norris; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside funeral with military honors will be held for Wayne at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
