Darlene Renee Lumsden, age 87 of Sale Creek, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Rock Spring, Georgia. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 12, 1938, the daughter of the late James and Marie (Boesch) Yuhas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lumsden.

She called Sale Creek home from 2016, having relocated from Hendersonville, North Carolina. With a Bachelor of Arts degree, she brought her talents to a variety of roles throughout her life — teacher, secretary, and art designer.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gwynn (Stacy) Swallows of Sale Creek, and Renee Watts of Tucson, AZ; her five grandchildren, Troy Watts, Lacey Watts, Carson Watts, Victoria Swallows, and Kyra Swallows; and her siblings.

Darlene will be laid to rest next to her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
