Mr. David Lee Meiste, age 84, a resident of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Roane Medical Center, Harriman, Tennessee. He was born August 30, 1940, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mr. Meiste was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwood, where he actively served in many capacities including singing in the Choir, being a member of Joy Fellowship for many years, and playing the piano for Sunday School. Mr. Meiste was a retired Chemical Operator at the U.S. Department of Energy Y-12 facility and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was an avid University of Tennessee Vols fan and enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. He will be remembered as a person who was always trying to help someone, including driving many to their medical appointments and being a caregiver for his wife for many years as she battled health issues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald & Jean Meiste; wife, Donna Kay Meiste; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary & Jim Campbell.

And several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Bro. Ben McNees officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is serving the family of Mr. David Lee Meiste.
