DEMPSEY “FRED” WILSON JR., 72

DEMPSEY “FRED” WILSON JR., age 72 of Crossville, TN passed away February 8, 2022. He was born June 17, 1949, in Crossville, TN the son of Dempsey Sr. and Geneva Parsons Wilson. He was retired from the State of TN as a property assessor and was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam. Fred was a gifted musician and loved playing. He could play many instruments and especially liked playing the drums. He also had a great voice and people loved to hear him sing.

He is survived by his sons- Michael Wilson, Jody Wilson and his wife Marsha all of Crossville, TN and Chris Wilson and his wife Heather of Cookeville, TN, daughter- Carol Plank of PA, brother- Jeff Wilson and his wife Linda of Crossville, TN, grandchildren- Michael Wilson and his wife DeeDee, Alyshia South and her husband Jared, Jessi Randall and her husband Seth, Austyn Everett, Gunter Wilson and his wife Christina, Travis Wilson and Alexa Wilson, great-grandchildren- Lyla Wilson, Anthony Wilson, and Camila Wilson and special friend- Jeanie Whittenburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-Wayne Madewell, Lane Madewell, and Ralph “Bo” Wilson, and sisters- Alline Henry and Patricia “Cis” Fields.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 1 pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 am-1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slate Springs Cemetery.
