He is also survived by his sister Clella Dixon and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. The family especially wants to thank their special family friend Steven Bales, special caregiver who he loved, Audrey Phillips and they also want to send out a special “thank you” to Quality Private Duty Care, Buckeye and Amedysis for their care and services.
Chet May was one of a kind- someone who, once met, you would never forget. Though a bit fiery and quite opinionated, he was a hard worker, and fiercely loyal. A great provider, he loved his family dearly. He loved drinking his coffee in the mornings out by the pool, when the weather cooperated, surrounded by his animals. He loved working outside on his tractor, around his yard and enjoyed putting out his garden each year. He never was one to sit still. Though his wife and daughter loved going to the beach, he wasn’t a big fan, but he would take them. He did, however, love going for drives in the mountains, especially in the fall. He loved spending time with his family, and especially doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed and leaves some gaping holes behind- though they will be filled with lots of love and fond memories. Chet is finally at rest and no longer in pain, at home in heaven with his parents. Rest well Daddy- we love you.
