Donald “Don” Irwin Nuhfer, 73, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in Tampa, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer on February 27, 2026. Born on November 17, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, to parents Eugene and Virginia Nuhfer, Don lived a life defined by service, devotion to family, and quiet strength.
A proud veteran of the United States military, Don served his country during the Vietnam War era with honor and dedication in the United States Air Force. His time in uniform reflected the deep sense of duty and patriotism that remained with him throughout his life. He carried the values of loyalty, resilience, and integrity into everything he did.
Don was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Agatha, who preceded him in death. Their partnership was a source of enduring love and support, and he carried her memory in his heart every day. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jeannie.
He leaves behind his cherished children, Tonya (Bing) Kearney and Jack (Shannan) Nuhfer; and two grandchildren, Adrian and Erin. He is also survived by his brother, Wesley (Connie) Nuhfer of Toledo, Ohio, along with extended family and friends who will remember his steady presence, warm heart, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., in Crossville, TN. Don will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Green Acres Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral. The family invites those who knew and loved Don to attend a lunch reception and celebration of his life after his burial at Crossville Memorial’s Care Center directly behind the funeral home.
