Donald Eugene Kinser, 80
Donald Eugene Kinser, age 80, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2026. He was born on October 23, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, to Ralph Edward Kinser and Thelma Rebecca Fourman Kinser. Don was of the Catholic faith.
He leaves behind his wife, Wanda Kinser; his stepson and best friend, Michael Hearne; grandchildren Hayden Hearne and Alisa Hearne Harris; his son, Donny Kinser; and his daughters, Deann Leight and Nicole Glueck. He is also survived by many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews in Ohio, and his beloved dog, Chloe, who never left his side.
Don was a retired Navy Chief and Vietnam veteran. After his military service, he served as a police officer for several years before starting his own painting and remodeling company. He was a devoted husband, protector, and dependable friend who stood up for what was right and helped others with quiet strength. Don loved vacationing around the country and sightseeing. He also enjoyed making macramé and building model ships. He will be remembered for the love he gave so generously, his honor, his gentle soul, and his commitment to his values.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kelli Renee Justice; his grandson, Joshua Kinser; and his brother, Edward Kinser.
Don’s family and friends will carry forward the memory of his steady presence, generous heart, quiet strength, and lifelong devotion to those he loved.
Jackson Funeral Home & Cremation, 51 Edmonds Drive, Oliver Springs, Tennessee 37840, cared for the family. Services with full military honors was held at 2 p.m. On July 8, 2026, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
