Donald Wayne Chandler, 73
Mr. Donald Wayne Chandler, 73, a resident of Rockwood Tennessee passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Roane Medical Center, Harriman, Tennessee. Don was born January 27, 1953, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the son of Melvin and Ona (Brown) Chandler. He grew up in Rockwood and graduated from Rockwood High School in 1971. He attended Tennessee Technological University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1975.
Don then went to work for his family in Pendleton, Oregon. While in Oregon during 1979 he met his eventual wife, Susan Williams of Sioux City, Iowa, who was visiting Oregon with a friend from school. Don and Susan were married on November 29, 1980, in Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Rockwood Tennessee that same year and raised two sons, Matthew and Daniel.
Don worked at the Y-12 National Security Complex for 37 years, retiring in 2019. Don served in various local roles in the community. Amongst those, he was most honored to serve as a Deacon and Elder at the Rockwood Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susan, and his parents.

Grandchildren: Aubrey Chandler, Elliott Chandler, Katherine Chandler, and Eleanor Chandler.

And several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) until 7:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) at the Rockwood Church of Christ, 129 S. Chamberlain Avenue; Rockwood, TN 37854. Funeral services will follow on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. from the Rockwood Church of Christ with Bro. Dale Barger officiating. Committal services and interment will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is honored to serve the family of Mr. Donald Wayne Chandler.
