Donna Denese Mills, age 63, of Pikeville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 31, 2026. Donna loved her family and friends. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a 1981 graduate of Bledsoe County High School, and a 1986 graduate of Tennessee Tech University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Donna began her career working for Child Protective Services and the Bledsoe County Department of Human Services. She later worked as a counselor at Taft Youth Center until they closed. She then worked and retired with the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections.

Donna loved Korean Pop, all holidays, collecting and gifting Hallmark Ornaments. She was naturally drawn to sparkly, glittery, and shiny things. Donna often thought of and gave to others.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, David Anthony Mills, Sr.; grandparents, Samuel and Irene Mills, and Jesse and Linnie Freeman.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her mother, Nina Jane Mills; brothers, Andy (Renee) Mills, Chris (Ginger) Mills, and J J (Deanna) Mills; nieces and nephews, which she referred to as her sweet potatoes, Collen (Sarah) Mills, Sammantha (Zach) Coley, Samuel (Jessica) Mills, Mason (Tabatha) Mills, Paige (Dylan) McDowell, Sarah (Barker) Vaughn, Marie Mills, David (Laura) Mills; a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
