Dora Sue Kirby, 82

Dora Sue Kirby, born on December 1st, 1942, passed away peacefully on September 20th, 2025. Born in Crossville, Tennessee, Dora was a beacon of strength, resilience, and love. Her early years in Crossville were the foundation of her strong character, and her late years in Sparta, Tennessee, were a testament to her unwavering spirit. Dora leaves behind a legacy that will live on in her beloved daughters- Kimberly Nichols (Troy), Sheila Lee, Lee Ann Keyes (John), and Judy Hubbard; son-in-law- Jeff Lane; grandchildren- Shannon Lee, Angela Manning (Chad), Paula Woody (Kevin), John Keyes (Nicole), Jamie Reed (Chip), Stephanie O’Neal (Jeremy), Valerie Harville, Brandy Browning (Jason), Michael Lane, Brittany Ford (Paul), and Tiffany Worley (John); 30 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law- Carolyn Copeland, Jean Copeland, Helen Dodson, and Bonnie Lewis. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Oral and Leva Copeland, her loving husband Kenneth Kirby, her cherished daughter Karen Lane, and her brothers William Stacy, Billy Copeland, and Robert Copeland. She also joins her dear son-in-law Paul Lee. As Helen Keller once said, “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” In Dora’s case, she was deeply loved and will forever remain a part of those she left behind. Please join us in celebrating Dora’s life at the Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., located at 2653 N. Main St. Crossville, Crossville, Tennessee, 38555. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm CDT on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm CDT. Pallbearers will include- John Keyes, Philip Keyes, John Keyes, Austin Hubbard, Michael Lane, and Justin Hargis. As we mourn the loss of Dora, we encourage all who knew her to celebrate her life.
