Dorothy Bryce Miller Tays, age 86, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Born on March 13, 1940, in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Bryce Miller and Margaret Wilson. Dorothy devoted her life to her family and was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her warm heart, sense of humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew her, leaving a lasting impression on friends and family alike.
Dorothy had a special gift for bringing people together, particularly through her love of cooking. She delighted in preparing meals that created lasting memories for her family and friends. Holidays, birthdays, and simple Sunday dinners, were never complete without her joyful presence and homemade dishes. She was also a devoted supporter of the Tennessee Volunteers, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Qualls and husband, Larry Qualls; her son, Bob Tays and wife, Christina Tays; grandchildren, Brad Daughterty and wife, Kate Daughterty, Lindsay Becker and husband, Josh Becker, Ethan Tays and wife, Holli Tays, Morgan Tays, Courtney Jordan and husband, Brent Jordan, Bryson Tays, and Maggie Qualls; and great-grandchildren, Anna, Blakelee-Kate, and Mason Daughterty, Riley, Noah, and Chloe Becker.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Tays; her daughter, Diana Daughterty Hamby; Baby Tays; and a host of other family members who welcomed her into Heaven.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Crossville Memorial. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m.
