On June 27, 2023, at the age of 44, Doug was called to serve with our lord in heaven. Doug succumbed to the ravages of a long-term illness; his pain is now ended! Douglas was the cherished son of Douglas L. Clark and Rebecca Parsons Clark (both of Monterey). He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elmer Parsons and Malena Parsons (both of Monterey) and Willis Clark and Dorothy Clark (both of Manchester). Doug had a special bond with his grandfathers, and he was often seen with Papa Elmer (Conductor) on the caboose or engine of an L&N train to Monterey.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK; Doug proved to be an accomplished scholar. He held degrees in mathematics and criminal justice and certifications in several medical specialties. He was still in school when God called him home. Along with his academic scholarship, Doug was an Accomplished painter and musician. His paintings were featured as center piece of many art shows in Oklahoma City, OK. His Rock Band the KND has performed in numerous venues around Oklahoma including the Brick Yards in downtown OKC.
Doug was an avid adventurer and sportsman. While in Alaska, he enjoyed exploring the Chugiak Mountains and glaciers with his friends. He loved salmon fishing and clamming in Ninilchik, AK. There were many occasions when Doug camped out on the Kenai Peninsula beneath an active volcano (Mt Redoubt). His love of animals kept him involved in the identification and rehabilitation of abused animals whether they be dogs, cats, birds or moose. His loving concern was contagious!
There is no plan for a memorial service. The family asks that each person touched by his passing memorialize him in his/her own way. Please do not send flowers. If desired a contribution to the ASPCA would be greatly appreciated.
