Douglas Joe “DJ” Cunningham, 92

Douglas Joe “DJ” Cunningham was born in Burnt House, WV on April 17, 1934. He passed away peacefully at his home in Crossville on July 26, 2026.

He is survived by his children Kay (Mike) Powers, Pam (Paul) Royko, Mike (Kim) Cunningham, and Mark Cunningham; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and his beloved dog Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Lorene; parents, George and Lilly Cunningham; siblings, Bill and Bob Cunningham; and grandson, Ryan Hall.

He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Monongahela Power. He went on to work with Lorene in their own wood crafting business for over 20 years, where they traveled all over the entire East Coast. DJ and Lorene enjoyed camping and traveled extensively in their RVs. He was an avid collector of foot powered and antique tools. He was especially known for having one of the largest collections of Barnes foot-powered tools in the United States. DJ will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to fix or build anything. One of DJ’s greatest pleasures was the Crossville Flea Market. When he could no longer walk the grounds he will be remembered for riding his fancy red scooter! The family thanks Hospice of Cumberland County for their support in his final days.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
