Doyal Lloyd Houston, 70

Doyal Lloyd Houston, born September 17, 1954, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Floyd Jesse Houston and Dorothy Patton Houston, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in Crossville, Tennessee, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Doyal shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Edna. Together they built a strong and loving family. He is survived by his sons, Doyle Jr. and Tony (Glenda); and seven adoring grandchildren: Morgan Pennington (Tristan), Jesse Houston, Trevor Houston, Ashlyn Houston, Trenton Houston, Haidyn Houston, and Chandler Maynard. He was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of his first great-grandson, Hollis Pennington, expected in December. Doyal’s twin brother, Lowell Houston, and brother, LeRoy Houston, also carry on his memory. For 32 years, Doyal worked with dedication and loyalty at Middle Tennessee Natural Gas, where he built lifelong friendships and a reputation for his work ethic and dependability. After retirement, he found his greatest happiness in the outdoors and with his family. A passionate bass fisherman, summer days often found him casting a line on City Lake or Watts Bar, while winter months drew him to Hinch Mountain, where his love for deer hunting brought him peace and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy; his siblings, Alta Frame and Tony Houston; and his cherished son, Travis Houston. Doyal will be fondly remembered by his family and friends with a legacy of devotion and humor that will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. Friends and family will be received at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 5 pm.
