Eddie M. Goines, 87

Eddie M. Goines, age 87, a long-time resident of Madisonville, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. Eddie was an active member of the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church in Madisonville; where he was a faithful minister of the Gospel as well as jail and other outreach ministries. Eddie was a well-known masonry contractor in residential and commercial buildings. Eddie showed love unconditionally, not only to his beloved wife Linda, but also to his granddaughters Brooke and Brittany including their father, Kevin and bonus Mom Jennifer who they treated as their own, as well as his friends, family and community. He could make anyone laugh no matter who they were. His wife prayed for his salvation for years and would put a prayer cloth under his bed each night. He then got saved and became a pastor! He was known around Sweetwater for his amazing masonry work including many commercial buildings in the area. His testimony was one that inspired many and was easy to see how much he loved the Lord. After their daughter passed, Eddie and Linda Goines helped raise Brooke and Brittany like their very own children. They were very generous and kind-hearted individuals who were very involved in their community and church. Preceded in death by his wife: Linda Goines, daughter: Sandra Dianne Shick, parents: Bart and Fanny Goines, sisters: Elizabeth Thompson, Barchie Johnson, brothers: Sonny, Danny, and Benny Goines.

Survivors include his grandchildren: Brittany (Michael) Charnley, Brooke Cespedes (Shick), son-in-law: Kevin (Jennifer) Shick, and a great-granddaughter: Vera Charnley all of Knoxville, sisters: Nina Lones, Geneva Thurmond, Patsy Fields, brother: Johnny Goines, brother-in-law: Don Parker, Michigan. Several nieces, nephews, and church family.
